Wedding photography of Tipperary Hurlers James Woodlock + Michelle Shortt

Tipperary Hurlers Michelle Shortt and James Woodlock were married in Drombane Church and Aherlow House Hotel by Fr. Joe Walsh and Fr. Martin Murphy. I wanted to capture the fun and magic of their fab wedding day.
I got this beautiful message from Michelle and James on my facebook page Christmas Day

feeling thankful with James Woodlock.
I started at the Grooms home farm where Hurling, farming and hunting were the three brothers passion growing up. I wanted to capture them playing hurling pucking ball in their yard.
A friend had given James a present of stickers to put on the underneath of his shoes “Game Over”
Christy O’Brien and Maura Bergin hunting friends arrived with a beautiful pair of horses and carriage as a susurprise and brought James and his brothers to the church – on time! 🙂
Michelle loves Christmas and was the reason she picked this special time to get married.
Santa came early for Bride Michelle as the Groom surprised her the night before with a present of a vintage Mini Copper one she had always wanted. He had wrapped it in a red ribbon and Red Rudolf nose and Antlers!
The Bride and her sisters Theresa and Catriona wore beautiful lace covered dresses and Winter White fur capes

Amelia Everard and Mark Kelly both love home, farming, having fun and the beautiful bog in Templetuohy Co. Tipperary Ireland. So wellies were on and great craic was had capturing their fab wedding day.
The couple were married by Amelia’s Uncle Fr. Eugene Everard P.P. in their home church Templetuohy Co. Tipperary.

Anthea + Felix – Ireland Horse Photography – The Equine Photographer

This portrait as commissioned by Anthea’s German parents at Dublin Horse Show. Felix and Anthea have had the most amazing journey together the last 12 years. Firstly in Germany and then they both went to boarding school in England where Felix also accompanied. They have now found their home in Ireland where Anthea is in College and Felix is loving the green pastures and competing. Anthea said “We’ve now found our home in Ireland and couldn’t be happier. We grew up together and formed an unshakeable bond. This kind of strong connection between a horse and rider is rare and I feel very lucky to share it with Felix”

I love the variety of my photographic work. This is a preview of the recent Food photography I did for Get Real Recipes
Get Real Recipes brings a new concept to that of the everyday bulky recipe book. Susie Halley and Clare Corballis have compacted 52 Classic Recipes into the size of a deck of cards. This is their second series. It will be available the end of November 2014
Clare trained at the famous Ballymaloe cookery school, where she learned a love of good home cooking and the importance of quality ingredients. Susie had always enjoyed cooking and experimenting with different dishes, trying vegetarian and vegan cooking through the years.
Susie and Clare both have children who were away at college. They frequently got phone calls from their children who would call from the supermarket asking what ingredients they needed to buy to make ‘spag bol’ or another of their favourite recipes.
The idea was born to print a simple set of cards that would be handy to refer to when shopping. Each card would have a convenient list of ingredients and simple instructions on how to cook the tasty fun suppers and avoid pre-
It quickly became clear that this idea would appeal to more than students. How often have you planned a meal for family, friends and yourself, written down what you need and then forgotten the list when you go to the shop or find that they don’t have the essential ingredient in stock. With Get Real Recipes there’s no need to panic, just choose another dish from your cards conveniently stored in your handbag or pocket!
They set about choosing appropriate recipes for the ‘cards’. All recipes are tried and trusted and tasted by the highly critical family audience! The girls have compacted 52 Classic Recipes into the size of a deck of cards.

This Equine Showjumping family photoshoot was commissioned as a Surprise gift for the childrens parents and grandparents. I wish I’d videoed this shoot as we had such fun photographing it. We used Tipperary Equestrian Centres Showjumping Indoor arena and I used my Studio lit ‘Signature Lighting’ emphasising the beautiful confirmation of their ponies and the gorgeous children. The children adore their ponies and were so excited during the shoot that I was capturing them with their life long friends.

“Mrs Quinn is a typical Irish horse with a huge heart and a real fighter in the ring. She has a quirky personality and she’s not a lover of the farrier or the clipping machine, but we get around her. She was bought in Cavan sales as a five-year- old and campaigned in Canada under Alan Kruger before returning to Ireland as an 11 year-old. It took a while to get to know each other but we have formed a very good partnership.
She is a full sister to International showjumping mare Shannondale, so its exiting to see what her foals will be like.

Michelle herself hails from Cashel and is 7 times World Irish Dancing Champion. After retiring from competitive dancing at the early age of 19 with 45 major titles under her belt, Michelle followed her dream of dancing all over the World as a Lead dancer and Choreographer touring not only European countries but also America, Australia and Asia. Michelle flew through her Dance exams to become a qualified teacher for An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha. The school now only open just over 3 years has spread from Cashel to Cahir, Clonmel, Dundrum, Fethard, Galbally, Golden, Littleton and Tipperary Town having many dancers winning 1st place at the mini Munster Championships in 2012 and 2013, Munster and All Ireland medalists the same years and Qualifiers for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in LONDON this Easter.
Michelle’s partner Michael Fischer comes from Leipzig Germany. Michelle and Michael met on tour in Norway while Michelle danced the leading role and Michael lit the stage as the lighting designer and technician for the Irish Dance show. They toured for over 2 years together to countries such as Norway, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and Russia before moving home to Ireland together to start a family. Their first baby daughter Elaina Lawrence Fischer was born on 11th February this year.
